Goal: you can express necessity, permission & absence of obligation.

Talk about these questions:

1: What do the words must, need to, have to, and can mean?

2: When and how do we use each?

Modals

Some examples:

I must talk to the teacher. (I feel this is necessary)

You don't have to wear a uniform. (it's not the rule)

Students needn't come to study days.

You can choose your dalton hours.

You mustn't play video games in class. (strong prohibition)
