Some general tenses with the passive:
Present simple                                                 am/ are/ is + past participle
Present continuous                                       am/ are/ is + being + past participle
Past simple                                                        was/ were + past participle
Past continuous                                              was/ were + being + past participle
Present perfect                                               have/ has + been + past participle
Past perfect                                                      had + been + past participle
Future  simple                                                  will + be + past participle
Modal passive, for example                       must + be + past participle
Infinitive                                                              to be + past participle

Recap: when do we use the passive?
1. action is more important than agent
2. no idea who performed the action
3. obvious who performed the action
