  • Verb + ed or irregular forms
  • We walked to school yesterday
  • Something happened and ended in the past
  • Signal words:
  • Yesterday, last year, three years ago etc.

  • Something in the past lasted a while
  • Signal words:
  • While, at the same time, when suddenly etc.
