Which of these is a main idea, not just a topic?

Holidays in small towns
Cheap flights are bad for small towns

Vul in
What does 'To sum up' tell you?
To sum up, the evidence points in one direction: smaller classes help.
A new, unrelated topic begins
The writer gives a small example
A conclusion with the main point follows
The writer asks the reader a question
Signaalwoorden in het slot (To sum up, In short, All in all) kondigen de samenvatting van de hoofdgedachte aan.

Text D: The case for boredom
(1) Parents often worry when their children say they are bored. Many rush to fill the empty hours with clubs, screens and lessons.
(2) Child psychologist Dr Ruth Calder thinks this is a mistake. "Boredom is where imagination starts," she says. A child with nothing to do may build a den, write a story or invent a game.
(3) Of course, nobody is suggesting that children should be left alone all day. A walk, a book and a few spare hours are enough.
(4) Calder's advice to parents is therefore simple: when your child says "I'm bored", don't panic. A little boredom is good for growing minds.
What is the main idea of Text D?
Some boredom is good for children's development
Parents should keep children busy with lessons
Children should be left alone for most of the day
Child psychologists disagree about screen time
Afleiders: het tegenovergestelde (clubs), te breed (most of the day; alinea 3 weerlegt dat) en niet in de tekst (screen time).
What is the main point of paragraph 3 of Text D?
Parents should never worry about their children
A walk is better for children than reading a book
Children are happiest when left completely alone
Children need some free time, not total freedom
Alinea 3 nuanceert alinea 2.

Text E: Letters to the editor
(1) Sir, I was surprised to read that the council wants to close the High Street to traffic on Saturdays. As a baker, I have served this town for twenty years, and I fear for my business.
(2) My customers are often elderly people who cannot carry heavy bags for long distances. They drive to my shop because there is nowhere else to buy proper bread nearby. Closing the street will make their lives harder.
(3) I am not against the idea of a quieter centre. But the council should first provide a free bus on Saturdays. Until then, please leave the High Street open. Yours faithfully, Anna Winters
What is the writer's main point in Text E?
A quieter town centre is a bad idea in general
Closing the High Street should wait for a free bus
The baker plans to stop selling bread in town
Elderly people should not drive to the High Street
What is the main point of paragraph 2 of Text E?
Elderly customers depend on cars to reach the shop
The bakery sells the best bread in the town
Heavy bags are the biggest danger for elderly people
Nowhere else in town sells any bread at all
Kernzin: My customers are often elderly people who cannot carry heavy bags.
Goed antwoord: But the council should first provide a free bus on Saturdays. Ook goed zonder 'But'.
What is the main point of this paragraph?
Many people think rainy days are dull. Yet rain also fills the rivers, feeds the crops and makes the countryside green. Without it, there would be no summer to enjoy.
Rainy days are dull for most people
Summers would be nicer without any rain
Rain is more useful than people think
Rivers matter more to farmers than rain does
Heel zeker
Redelijk zeker
Niet zo zeker
Helemaal niet zeker
