> I haven't been walking that much for the last few weeks.
> He has been waiting ages for his brother to pick him up. 
> Have you been running for long?

1. When did both things start? 
2. Is the action finished in both sentences? 
3. Which sentence  is focused on the result/ experience? 
4. Which sentence is focused on the duration of the action?
5. Which sentence could carry on into the future?

PRESENT PERFECT
  • in het verleden begonnen, maar geven een verband aan tussen het verleden en het heden
  •  nadruk op het resultaat 
  •  als iets is gebeurd maar het is niet belangrijk wanneer 
  • vaak heeft het iets te maken met hoe vaak iets gebeurt is >> I have called Sally 20 times this morning) 

 PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS
  • begon in het verleden en de actie duurt nog steeds voort. 
  • nadruk op tijdsduur en herhaalde acties (for hours, lately, recently, all day, etc.>> I have been calling Sally all morning 
  • we kunnen bewijs zien/merken van de activiteit nog steeds
