• Als je wilt zeggen dat iemand iets kan, dan kun je can + hele werkwoord of to be able to + hele werkwoord gebruiken. 

• Can = gebruik je bij vaardigheden
• Be able to = gebruik je als je wilt zeggen dat iemand in staat is om iets te doen.

• Can = cannot - can't 
• to be able to = am not/isn't/aren't able to of to be unable to

• vragende vorm

• can staat vooraan de zin
• to be able to = alleen de vorm van to be komt vooraan de zin

• Verleden tijd 

• to be (was / wasn't / were / weren't) + able to + hele werkwoord

• Zinnen met to be able to zijn formeler dan zinnen met can
