De Present Perfect Continuous 
- als iets in het verleden begonnen is en nog steeds voortduurt en je wilt vooral de tijdsduur benadrukken. 
Voorbeeld: I have been studying English for five years (vijf jaar lang en nu nog steeds). 
- als de handeling je irriteert :
Voorbeeld: I have been waiting for your reply for over a week!
- bij de woorden 'recently' en 'lately':
Voorbeeld: Recently, I have been feeling sick.

  • Articles come before a noun
  • Before most nouns in English, you need to use an article.
  • We use them when we speak and when we write, there is no way to avoid them!

  • with members of groups: the pariamentarians (dan wel) maar: Parliament (als geheele groep)
  • na both, all of most: Most people don't......All humans are.....Both took the bus
  • vaste uitdrukkingen: ...we were spending a day at sea / in hospital
