Future

Er zijn vier soorten toekomst in het Engels

1. will + werkwoord

2. "to be" + going to + werkwoord

3. present continuous

4. present simple

will + werkwoord

Je gebruikt will + hele werkwoord als:

- iemand een voorspelling doet zonder dat er bewijs is.

- een belofte en een verzoek

- Marly: "Let's go on holiday with a nice group of friends!"

- Patrick: "What a good plan! We will invite our dear friends to come with us!"

--> Patrick geeft een belofte aan --> will + hele werkwoord

- I think that the weather will be fantastic tomorrow

- Perhaps the sun will shine tomorrow.

--> Er is geen bewijs --> will + hele werkwoord

"to be" + going to + werkwoord

Je gebruikt "to be" + going to + hele werkwoord als:

- iemand een voorspelling doet en er bewijs is.

- iemand iets van plan is 

- Frits: "Patrick told me you are going on holiday."

- Marly: "Yes, we are going to invite our dearest friends to come with us."

--> Hij is dit van plan te gaan doen --> to be going to + hele werkwoord

- He read that the weather is going to be great next week.

- Look at the dissappearing clouds. It is going to be sunny any moment now.

--> Er is wel bewijs (hij las het / ziet het gebeuren) --> to be going to + hele werkwoord

Present Continuous (Future)

Je kunt de present continuous (am/are/is + ww-ing) gebruiken voor duidelijke afspraken die je hebt gemaakt die nog gaan plaatsvinden:

- I am travelling to the Arctic as soon as I have enough money.

- Next Saturday she is working at our favourite restaurant!

- My dentist is taking care of my teeth tomorrow.

Present Simple (Future)

Je kunt de present simple (hele ww (+s)) gebruiken als je spreekt over tijdschema’s, roosters en dienstregelingen in de toekomst:

- My work starts at nine o'clock.

- The show is in Paris for one more week.

- The bus leaves in 30 minutes.
