Product:
Goal: Students investigate an aspect of British daily life.
Students answer a research question about the chosen aspect of daily life.

Final product requirements:
o 4-8 minutes
o Every group member speaks for at least 2 minutes 
o Try to make it as engaging and fun to watch as possible
make it look like a news segment.
It should include:
- an introduction in which the research question is mentioned
- some information from the research before the trip
- clips of all 2-3 interviews to support your research
- A conclusion



At school/in the Netherlands
1. Form groups of 2-3 students
2. Each groups picks a topic
3. Create a research question – linked to British people’s experiences
4. Hand in research question for approval
5. Investigate topic. Use a variety of sources and at least Britain for Learners of English
6. Write an interview to carry out in London

In London
7. Look around and gather written information in London. (E.g. a menu, a newspaper, a magazine, subway map, etc.)
8. With the group, interview at least 5 people about the chosen topic and to help answer the research question. Makes sure you record videos of the interviews.
9. Make some shots of London itself and typical British/London things.

Research with a group: 15 minutes
  1. Get into groups of 2-3 students (students with whom you're going to do the final product) 
  2. Pick an interesting topic from the video
  3. Research that topic online and find minimum 5 pieces of information 
  4. Collect your information and some visual aides on a Powerpoint or LessonUp slide. Be prepared to share your findings (in English) with the rest of the group during Wednesday's class (1-2 minutes) 

Tip: search news articles, social media, YouTube, travel blogs, and tourism websites to get started. 
Possible topics: 

- restaurants and food scene
- royalty and royal family proceedings
- diversity and demographics (“The world in one city” / “melting pot”)
- Typical London things (telephone booths, double decker buses, black cabs, etc)
- architecture and famous landmarks
- religious history, role of church in London life
- shopping, fashion, and lifestyle
...or anything else you can think of that interests you! Possible options include music industry, London celebrities, geographic location, history, football clubs, modern life, etc. 
If you have another idea, raise your hand and ask your teacher.

Presenting! 15 minutes
Each group will have 1-2 minutes to share what they found out about their topic. They may connect one laptop to the projector so the class can see their visual aide.
