What Is Fake News? 📰❌

Fake news means news or stories that are not true. You might also hear words like misinformation (when someone shares something false by mistake) or disinformation (when someone shares something false on purpose).

Fake news is often shared online to try and trick people or change what they think or do.

Slide 7 - Tekstslide

How Can You Spot Fake News? 🕵️‍♂️🕵️‍♀️

Ask yourself these questions:
🔎 Who wrote this?
Is it from a real, trusted news site, or just some random person on social media?
🎯 Why was it written?
Is it trying to tell you the truth, make you laugh, or make you angry or scared?
🌐 Is it on other websites too?
If it’s true, you’ll usually see it on big news sites like BBC, The Guardian, or Reuters.
⚠️ Does it sound super shocking or unbelievable?
If it sounds crazy or too good (or bad) to be true, it might not be real.
📝 Are there spelling mistakes or weird website names?
If it looks messy or the web address looks strange, it’s probably not a real news site.

💡 Tip: If you're not sure, ask a trusted adult or teacher to help check if something is true!
