A used car is much cheaper than a new one. 

Do you prefer the black shoes or the red ones?

What do we use one & ones for and what is the difference between the 2 words?

Je gebruikt one/ones als je een zelfstandig naamwoord verderop in de zin wilt herhalen 

one --> enkelvoud 

ones --> meervoud

Je gebruikt one/ones:

• na een bijvoegelijk naamwoord 
  there are big problems and small ones
• Na which
  I have to read a book. Which one should I pick?
• na this, that, these & those
  Do you like thrillers? This one is a must-read.
• als zelfstandig naamwoord 
  Muffins? I like the ones with chocolate best.

1. je iets van plan bent in de toekomst;
