Ik heb nog nooit van de woorden: "Could, Might/May" gehoord.

"Could, Might/May, "
kan ik:

1. Speculeren (gokken)
2. Vraagzinnen maken
3. Ontkennende zinnen maken
4. A, B & C zijn allemaal goed

Met de woorden:
""Must, Could, Might/May, Can't"
kan ik goede Engelse zinnen maken

3. Ik denk het, maar moet ik wel wat mee oefenen

Might, May, Could + infinitive

(Might, May, Could + Hele WW)

- Wanneer we denken dat iets waar zou kunnen zijn.

- I think I might get an 8 for the test. Could also be a 6 though...

- It might rain today, I saw dark clouds outside.

-  Present + future

- May I go out today?

- Could I go out tomorrow?

Negatief

Je kan alleen may/might in de negatieve vorm zetten. 

- She may not go out sir

- I might not want to go today.

Could kan in deze situatie niet gebruikt worden met NOT

May/Might/Could

- May: highest form of politeness 

The restaurant may close. = It is likely that the restaurant will close.

- Could: 

The restaurant could close. = It is less likely that the restaurant will close.

- Might: 

The restaurant might close. = There is only a possibility that the restaurant will close but no one is very sure.
