Use: facts, habit, regular things (schedules)
Key words: always, everyday, never, often, usually, sometimes

Form: Positive
  • I/you/we/they : ow + stam ww --> I walk
  • he/she/it : ow + stam ww + s --> he walks

Slide 4 - Slide

Grammar: present simple
Form: Negative
I/you/we/they : ow + don't + stam ww --> I don't walk
he/she/it : ow + doesn't stam ww --> he doesn't walk

Form: Question
I/you/we/they : do + ow + stam ww --> Do you walk?
he/she/it : does + ow + stam ww --> Does he walk?

Use: happening at the moment, doing right now
Key words: now, right now, at the moment

Form: Positive
  • ow + am/is/are + stam ww + ing --> I am walking

Grammar: present continuous
Form: Negative
ow + am/is/are not + stam ww + ing --> I am not walking (isn't/aren't)

Form: Question
am/is/are + ow + stam ww + ing --> Are you walking?

Use: looking for confirmation (Dutch "toch?")

Form:
  • Sentence positive = tag question negative
  • Sentence negative = tag question positive
