To remember the tenses we use for the present. 

To apply the correct tense to the correct situation.

Which tenses can you use to talk about the present?

Summary

1. Present simple - things that happen on a regular basis.

2. Present continuous - things that are happening right now.

3. Present perfect - happened in the past and is connected to now.

 4. Present perfect continuous - started in the past and has either just finished or continues on.

Which sentence is more about result and which is duration?

Focus is on result or how many times it has happened

The following questions use one of the present tenses

Chose the present tense to match the situation: 

Present simple - feiten/ iets regelmatig / volgt een schema

Present continuous - nu/ tijdelijke situatie/ iets in de toekomst 

Present perfect - resultaat/ hoe vaak iets gebeurt 

Present perfect continuous - tijdsduur

He ..........................(to have) a really good time tonight. You can see it in his face! (missing word/words only)

Fill in the correct tense:
I ........................(to call) Tom 5 times this morning but I can't get hold of him.

We ...........................(to drive) for hours but we still have a long way to go.

I ................... (not, to take) any bread out of the freezer this morning, have you? (in full, no contractions)

Jeff .........................(to have) a guitar lesson every week.

Dad ........................ (to train) for a half marathon and he still has a few weeks to go before the race.
