Vul de uitdrukking in

After weeks of doubt, she decided to bite the bullet and apply for the job.

bite
bullet
chew
bomb

The suitcase was so light that she carried it with one hand.

A

Bright, with a lot of daylight

B

Wat is een 'mixed blessing'?

Working from home is a mixed blessing: it saves time, but it can feel lonely.

1

Text 6: The new bridge

(1) For decades, the only way across the river was the old ferry. It was cumbersome: slow, hard to steer and able to carry only a few cars at a time.

(2) When the new bridge opened, the writing was on the wall for the ferry company. Nobody wanted to pay for a crossing that took forty minutes when a bridge could do it in two.
