Past Simple:
  • verb + ed/irr verbs 2nd form
  • did + subject + verb.....?
  • did not + verb


Use:
  • when an action took place in the past and is now over
  • with LADY words

Present Perfect:
  • has/have + past participle
  • has/have + subject + past participe + ....?
  • has/have + not + past participle


Use:
  • for actions that started in the past and are still going on
  • cause (present perfect) > effect (present simple) 
  • with FYNE JAS and BECAUSE/SINCE/FOR/AS
